Howard Brown: Founder

Howard Brown, a Bishopville, SC native with deep roots in Sullivan's Island, brings over four decades of construction and design expertise to Brown Atlantic. Since 1973, Howard has been an integral part of the Lowcountry's building landscape, starting with commercial projects and transitioning to home renovations.

Howard's approach to construction emphasizes sustainability, quality materials, and innovative design solutions. His ability to repurpose and recycle elements has not only created homes with character but also aligns with modern green building practices. As the head of founder of Brown Atlantic, Howard continues to influence Charleston's architectural scene with his distinctive blend of practicality and tropical charm.

Kep Brown: VP & Director of Business Development

Kep Brown, Howard’s second son, serves as Vice President and Director of Business Development at Brown Atlantic, where he leverages his extensive expertise to identify and pursue new growth opportunities. Raised on Sullivan’s Island, Kep developed a deep appreciation for the Lowcountry’s landscape and community. He graduated from UNC Wilmington before returning to Charleston to help grow the family business. With a strategic mindset and a deep understanding of the industry, Kep is dedicated to building strong partnerships and driving the company’s expansion. His leadership and innovative approach are instrumental in shaping Brown Atlantic’s future success.

Rudder Brown: President

Rudder Brown, Howard's son, represents the future of Brown Atlantic. Growing up on Sullivan's Island, Rudder has inherited his father's love for the Lowcountry lifestyle and passion for craftsmanship. Rudder brings a fresh perspective to the family business, combining his father's time-honored techniques with contemporary design trends and sustainable building practices. A Citadel graduate, Rudder approaches each project with unwavering focus and dedication.

Andrew Furmanchik: Project Manager

Andrew Furmanchik is a project manager at Brown Atlantic General Contractors, where he oversees construction projects with a focus on quality, efficiency, and local impact. A Charleston native and graduate of The Citadel, Andrew brings a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to every job—guided by deep roots in the Lowcountry and a strong foundation in leadership.
